What to do about rippers

This year I heard alot of people were going to rip my first grow, thankfully my father and I pulled our plants before they could.

This is very depressing and I would like to know if anyone can share there tricks.
I plan on spending 200$ just on plants that grow like vines to help cover my grow, and lights but I'm still up at night worring. I live in Cali and have my card so I'm not breaking any laws by growing but I'm still scared.

If your in cali, growing season is over. Plants on vines that cover your grow? sounds like a bad idea. Some plants attract pests.

My advice to people, if you are worried about rippers. Then your growing in a place where you shouldn't be growing it. If you can't handle that fact, then you're gonna have deal with it, or not grow. Sad I know. : (

Wild roses are a good choice. Those have deterred their share of teenagers. I'm not sure what the official name is, but they grow like a weed and are covered in thorns. Our best backup is dogs that like to bark at anything that comes within 15' of our fence. Anything that causes extra attention is good. People that are stealing don't like loud noises or anything else that gets attention. Regarding what other people have said; we can't all buy 40 acres in butt-fuck-nowhere and grow. I have a back yard that is in the middle of town, and I will use it. Rippers happen, but they like easy targets. Remember: Thieves want to put in minimum work for maximum profit; If you have 3 dogs and a camera system, they will find easier targets.

Make your plants blend with the vines by topping and then braiding the stems like a chick's hair. I lay them next to ground vines like pumpkins or squash. My laptop with the pics blew but I had already posted pics on RIU of one Super Silver Haze "Braided and laid over bud monster" this last summer. When you do it that way all the side buds become top colas in a way. Support with blocks of wood or bricks or rocks or . . . anything to keep the main bundle from laying on the ground.

Squash, pumpkins, watermelons.

Whatever you do, do not hurt anybody. I know what I am talking about. Guerrilla growing since 1964 and I have done and seen it all or at least heard about it. I made some pit traps with punji sticks one time. A little cardboard over it with sand lightly sprinkled to hide it and a piece of creosote bush to brush and rough it up to look natural.

Back the next week (check your grow with binocs instead of visiting first) and saw tracks near the pits. Went to check it out - kids footprints. Little kids. Not rippers. Filled those things up and was super happy some child was not hurt. Now would not hurt anybody over pot unless the bastard was in my house. Jail sucks.

legalize weed - then the laid off DEA agents, prison guards and (lazy ass) rippers can grow it for themselves:shock:. I swearta god

I know growing season is over in cali, I was just wondering what I am going to do next year. I took about 45 rose cuttings from my flower garded and plan to make a good wall however flowers take a long time to grow. I agree with making it hard for anyone to get to them. A few high fences that have vines and will colaps under the weight of a human seems to be smart, along with some good motion sensors since my bedroom window over looks the garden. I just want to try to prevent them, and I live not that far from the capital, were backyard theifs are on the rise

Look at my grow .. thats about everything you can do in cali. Also stuffing a shotty in a few faces gets the point across.

something we do up in mendo is tie treble hooks to a good fish line about 20"apart .with little Christmas bells placed in between...50-100' of this--

line your garden perimeter--and tell your gaurd to point the 12gauge with the rocksalt at the sound of the little bells and pooka!

its very hard to get these little hooks out once you panic and realize your caught up in some shit---
and wen u run the little bells will give you away in the dark--

tents placed in your garden with led lights and radios go aalong way too..
also a few good rounds off every couple nights will let them ripperz know your there--

couple good red nose pits help too--

good luk I was a gaurd for 10 yrs --

can't you just get a fenced in area and put a lock on the gate? something like a batters cage maybe even with a roof if you're that worried about it.. completely fenced in and a lock on the gate..
might run you a bit of cash up front, but the security and one nice outdoor crop would be worth the price in gold imo..
