yes sir
when u get with in 4 inches of the light u are going to bleach the leaves and flowers ............the closest u are allowed to get to it is 8 inches and even then u need to have a fan going to make sure the IR heat is not burning the leaves
12 inches is a about the lowest u want to go so the light works effectively

rem your plant is growing all day getting closer to the light ..........u need to leave room for it to grow up so it not in the danger zone 12 inches ....this will allow u to look in every 2 days and make adjustments as u water the planets .....unless u are a check every day guy but once u do a few plants that stops

u can be with in 12 inch with that too ...............the 1000w u need 18 inches
600w if i rem correctly is about 90k lumen u are ok at 12 inches ..........it is when u get closer the lumen will increase when u get near 150k that is the

u can get as close as they say
but u need a fan in the area blowing cool air tho the leaves .....it has to move so u do not get windburn on the leaves ..........a HPS light is about 70% ir heat light so that close to the plant they need a method of cooling the cells
MH is only like 40% ir heat still need it but not as strong

the closer u are to it the more lumen/power u are pushing out to it .........at set lvls it will start to damage the plants those charts i gave u give the set limits for us plant growers
the cooltube main thing is to keep the temp down in the area ..it is removing alot of the heat from the area plus the bulb
IR is a lightwave that makes heat on surfaces ..............the old growers trick is the have your palm touching the plant and back of hand exposed to the light if your hand get uncomfortable with in 30 secs of being there u need to back the light off more
to counter this IR heat on the leaves u need to make a cooling breeze in the area .........this would allow u to be closer to the plants with out them getting heat stress
the whole point of us growing indoors is to mimic the best days of nature and to have as many as we can in arow so the plants do their best for us

Note all those optimal numbers aren't for babies either, those are for plants with well established roots. You want to say lower until those roots are well established. At those optimal levels a babe may not be able to gather water fast enough to survive. Start a bit further back than optimal if roots aren't well established yet.

I have to shake my head at this. Silly stupid IMHO. If you don't try to grow thick strong healthy plants with proper spectrums and intensity during veg, you don't have the foundation for big healthy buds. All aspects of the grow are important to optimal output.

u are photos so u have the time to do the long game i seen root stalks as big as my arm before
if u want some info on the experiments i have run with the feedlines i played with i will be happy to share ........i do autos so getting those roots down in a good soil or to have a good feed plant is one of the first things i needed to learn
i start my buddies plants out for him now he was not getting the same results we figure out it is his light spec it is too red .......he has ones the size of my thumb in 3 gallon bags we are using a mix of bio and chemical feeds to keep them in balance but push them ......he should pull 3 to 4 oz of bud of that strain in those bags
we moved to leds here have a look
