What steps should I take next in my grow? (Pics & Details inside)

Yaooo, long time chiefer, but first time grower! Now that intro's are out of the way, let's get down to business.

So I have a plant grown from a clone (OG Kush x Trainwreck hybrid). It's about 6-7 weeks old, and from the start I was watering it plain tap water, no nutes, and giving it natural California sun. It's been transitioning to Fall so the light has been from around 8am-4:30pm (8 hours natural light). For the past two weeks
(about 4-5 weeks into the grow) I started watering it with nutrients every 2nd or 3rd watering (FloraMicro, FloraGro, and a small amount of Florabloom) and have been regulating the light intake.

Very Recently I bought a 150w HID grow light (Sun systems), a pre-made grow tent lined with Mylar, and a small Vornado fan. So now that I have control of the enviornment I have been putting her on a 18/6 light cycle. She is currently about 12.5 inches tall and sits in a 5 gallon pot. With the grow tent I have and her current height, I have probably about 2 more vertical feet of grow space.

Now my questions are: About how long should/can I veg for before I start to flower? When should I start cutting clones and where should I take clones from (I do plan on taking clones to start another grow cycle)? Are there are prunings/toppings/super cropping that I should/can do? Also just any general tips, comments or concerns with my grow are all helpful!

Here are her glamour shots and my humble setup:

I'd appreciate the shared wisdom and knowledge!

never cloned anything in my life ... but when guys have talked about topping there plants in order to increase the amount of colas then i've heard more then once that these cuttings have been used as clones, and i've seen loads of advise on here for that

might want to grow that on for a while first though

they will double to triple in size during flowering. So you should flower pretty soon if you only got 2 more feet. Cut them (clones) just before you flip to 12/12, take them from the bottom of the plant, these bottom ones don't produce that much bud and it'll be wispy anyway. Well you could FIM or something similar but you kinda missed the boat on it. You can still do it. If you LST you would have more space and can continue veging for a long while.

It looks pretty healthy, I suggest LST and to keep veging to get more bud.

start flowering NOW ! 150 watts can't penetrate that deeply, if you can in the next 24 hours see if you can grasp the scrog method of growing then you could veg a little longer otherwise wait till next grow.
150 watt lights can be closer than what it loooks like where you're at.

Hello , I see you have a great starting point. 1. Take clones now and from the very farthest from the top of the plant, There are more of the hormones you want in the lowest parts. Take them before you put them into12/12 photo period (And for that matter it is EXTREMELY important to keep to your light schedule as any amount of light contamination causes problems ( slow growth, hermaphrodites, mutations etc.) Dont change it or reduce during of flowering as all it does is give you less time and that equals less weight. Dont flower a whole plant to see sex, take a clone and grow it till roots and put it in flower . if you flower a whole plant and then revert it back to vegetative mode, the next time you flower it , it will take 4-6 weeks and then it will grow like shit. (Kinda off subject I know) . If you top the top freshest growth , it will tell the plant to shift its growth to lower portions and it will get bushy. I run scrog but during outdoor i top my plants once or twice. BUT if you do top your ( or stress injure cut etc) it will take a few days to recover before you see efficient growth. the more you stress it the longer it takes. I hope this helps. :peace:

and as frmrboi says ... you'd get a much better "bang for your buck" if you drop that light down lower
