What Should I Use to Tie My Plants Down?

Dental floss would work, but I prefer twine. It's cheap (comes in a big roll for >$5) so if you cut pieces the wrong size, who gives a shit, just pitch it and try again. Just try and be nice to the nodes. You can use each piece a few times before it gets all frizzy and worthless on you. Twine is also not as fine as floss, which I would consider a good thing. I am by far no expert but am dabbling in LST and give plain old, Home Depot twine 2 thumbs up.

Can i use dental floss if i tie it loosely around the branches or??
I wouldn't. As fine as it is, it can cut into the bark.

I bought a pack of those long pipe cleaners from the craft store, cut them in 1/2 or whatever length and use that.

Dental floss is okay, but use stuff that doensnt' have antyhign but wax on it. twine is better though because it's a lot less likely to break the plant up.

If you tie it loosely though, I'm sure that will ensure things aren't hurting yoru plants more than they are helping them.....

I use yarn, its soft and fuzzy. Drawback, some of the fuzz gets on your plants. And a thumbtack to poke in the side of my bucket or smartpot.
