What should I do? Is my plant overwatered or something else?

Ph- 5.8
Lighting- HLG 120w 288v2
Watering schedule- every day

Im not sure what to do tbh. The leaf tips are curling and she always looks a bit droopy. I have been told to feed every day in coco, but now im starting to wonder if she is over watered? She doesnt seem to have any deficiencies and looks good other than being droopy and having her leaves curled down. Should I treat coco as soil and let her have a dry cycle? I dont know whats wrong.

Whats your temps and RH like? Those can have a big impact on plant growth, and prevent it from drinking properly.

Personally in coco I like to wait for a little time between watering.

You can water every day in coco without too much detriment to your plants.

However myself I like to try and have a day in between where I don’t water.

This way I also know when to transplant to a bigger pot.

If they’re drinking every day and getting excessively light then it’s time to transplant.


Some people say feed every day in coco but personally I don’t often do that.

The reason for this is that if you allow them to dry out too much then you can issues with Ca and K uptake due to the CEC of coco fibre.

If you think they’re looking over watered (which they do a little) then skip a day between feedings.

Thanks! Although I am a little confused now, because I have been doing what the article says. I am following my feed chart with the correct ppms, and I feed every single day, never any plain water which is why Im really wondering whats going on.the only things I can narrow down are like you said during this time in her life she is probably super hungry, but im covering that, so it might be that her new light that I have had for a week or so is making it different for her to adjust, or that maybe she is over watered. Ugh this is all a part of learning, I just wish I could know for sure.

Seems like a lot of the LED guys are getting better growth results at 79-83, it is supposed to help improve respiration since the LEDs don't have the IR to warm the leaves up like HID lighting does.

If your runoff is around 0.2EC 100-150 ppm less than the input then you’re doing fine.

If it starts to climb and becomes higher than the input nutrients then it’s time to back off.

If you’re getting a reduction of 200-300 less than the input then it’s time to increase.

Personally when I see a decrease of 200-300 PPM (0.3-0.4EC) I like to increase by about 100-150ppm (0.2EC)


Sounds like you’re doing everything correct.


Like i said I take days off watering especially during veg usually 1 at most 2 days but I do check on them every day to make sure they’re not drying out at all.

When it’s time for me water again the top of my coco is still pretty moist.

These pics are around day 30 from seed under a 250w CFL.

I’ll be switching to my 400w MH in the next few days.

I watered them on Friday evening and have watered them again tonight (Sunday evening)


Edit.... these have been topped and pruned a little so far.
I topped at the main stem node for the 5 bladed leaf set.
