What medium should I use?

I have an aeroponic setup that I made myself, but I'm unsure as to what I should use for the growing medium in the net cups.... I have some coconut fiber?... I was thinking about expanded clay pebbles, but I heard that's better for ebb and flow or drip setups.... any guidance would be greatly appreciated...
