What light for 8x4 with 2 600w hps

I’m going to grow in a 8x4 with 2 600w hps. Obviously it won’t be enough to cover the whole 4x8 space so I will need another light in the middle but I really don’t want another hps. I was thinking of a decent led or a metal halide but I’m not sure what wattage I should get.

Two 600 watt HPS lights in a 4 x 8 tent worked fine for me, I'd spend your money on the best quality HPS bulbs, personally!!

Normally when we talk about 4x8 here it's length by width in feet. So a 8x4 is the same. Sorry if I seemed snarky :) ;)

unless you have a very tall tent, the height measurement is irrelevant. for h.i.d. lighting, you want about 50 watts per square foot, and you have about 37. for leds its about 30 per sq foot. (rules of thumb only, assuming you're buying decent gear and not alibaba bullshit) so a 200 (true) watt led would be a good choice, would bring you up to par and help reduce your heat a little, at least compared to another h.i.d. light.
