What kind of spider mite?

Hey guys,
I have this pest that looks like a mite, but it doesn't look like the common two spotted mite. This mite like creature also only crawls around the rim of my pot and its not forming any webbing. I was also wondering if beneficial mites could naturally appear in an indoor garden?

Looks like gnats.
Spider mites have 8 legs ( They are spiders after all ).

They seem to be attracted to dark colors. So long as there is no plants or roots are being munched on yet. I have never seen those either but would keep a close eye on em.
