What is too hot ?

I know the temps should be 74 -79 f but the question is the temp under a 1000w air cooled light is 90 degrees some times a little hotter the box stays at 75 it is just the direct lite is so hot is this correct?

sounds about right, just keep the light away from your tops. i hang a thermometer under the light right at the tops of my plants and try to keep them at 84 at the tips.
