What is this? Help!

I have a wedding cake that has been a strong grower, but now she is flowering and I noticed a branch started dying. I have a picture of the joint where I cut it off and notice the dark spot at the joint. What is it? I have a few other joints showing the darkness but most do not. Is it mold? What can I do about it? I would hate to lose more of it and it looks healthy besides the one branch I cut off.

Hit it with some peroxide. If its mold it will go away.

Sorry newbie here, but do I just use straight over the counter hydrogen peroxide or do I dilute it?

Thanks! It foamed up on the dark spots so was working. Will see what it looks like over the next couple days.
