The ballast i have goes from 400 to 1000. Right now the i have it on 420 but would like to push it to 500..possible? or would it pop explode and die?
I tried to run 500 watts on a 600 watt bulb and it produces almost the same amount of lumens as the 400 on the 420 setting. If i use 600watts my room becomes a little too hot, so the sweet spot is 500w. Yea i could ad more fans and etc. but if i take in all the factors including my electric bill 500 is perfect. You can put it up to 1000 and it will still blow
Why not get a bigger bulb?
What do you mean a MH isn't dimmable sure it isA MH isn't dimmable where as a hps is so to answer ur q a 400e will go to 400e man n 400e minimum.
Exactly!Wanna shorten lamp life (especially mh) ?
Dim your lamp.
the ballast doesn't matter dude it's the bulb..shits not supposed to be dimmed.read the phf I'd posted..shits illogical dudeWell there are MH ballasts that do allow dimming. It's just something that the ballast needs to support apparently.
For instance the: QUICKTRONIC® MH Metal Halide Dimming ballast
Just because you shouldn't do it doesn't mean that MH can't be 'dimmable'.Yup n if cunts read the pdf youll see the change in mh is cray cray different...seriously you cunts read the fucking pdf lol its silly that people still argue this shite when the interwebs has all the damn info in the clickidy clack of a mouse...im drunk if i offended anyone good you deserve to be offened if you think its a good idea to dim a mh,youre luvky that you house aint burnt down
