What is needed to become a mastergrower? Is the job hard? How do you train yourself to become one?

If there are any mastergrower's here that works for a company how did you get in? What is expected of you? How did you train yourself and if one wants to pursue this career in the future what should he do to be qualified for such a job?

So experience with home growing, goes a long way with your CV you think? I was thinking about documenting all my grows with detail and working on my trimming for perfection so to expand my skill tree. Also Iv been going the organic route and I know most commercial grows are done hydroponic setups with cubes, do you think I should get more experience with hydroponic style growing or just try to master organic over the years?

MASTER is very subjective

I think "Master" anything is a term endowed upon you by peers in said field. It only took me 3 summers of baiting hooks for clients on a fishing boat to achieve Master baiters status though

I was a Master Baiter before I was 13yr old

I would say even if you consider yourself an expert, like ol' bob the builder 420 said, get a job in the industry.

Growing on a commercial scale with hundreds or thousands of plants is nothing like growing a couple, or even a couple dozen at home.
You have reservoirs that are hundreds of gallons, you use nutes out of barrels not jugs. Don't have as much time to spend with each plant.

You face all sorts of new problems being in those massive rooms with so many plants. It's also a lot harder to keep and eye on every plant and do something to fix it when you notice an issue.

I would say commercial growing is about fine tuning everything down to the most minute (Is that the correct spelling?) detail so that problems don't arise in the first place. More than likely you are going to experience a massive problem with every plant rather than 1 or 2 individuals.

for sure but the question was meant for the job position called 'master grower'

I Imagined a master grower to be expert in all fields, I then thought nah its too vast to become a expert in all fields, you would need two lifetimes.

So i googled the definition, apparently a master gardener is indeed subjective lol...
