What is dropping the pH of my nutrient mixture every day?

More of a "Just Curious" as I adjust every morning before feeding. Growing outdoors in soil. The pH of the mixture goes down every morning, sometimes by as much as 0.5. I think it goes down more on warmer days.

The mixture:
  • Botainicare Pure Blend Pro Bloom Soil
  • Botanicare CalMag
  • Botanicare Silica Blast
  • Botanicare Hydroplex
  • Kelp
  • Hummic Acid
  • Fulvic Acid
  • Great White
  • Blackstrap
  • Earth Juice MicroBlast

Mixture is in a 5 gal reservoir or 20 gal reservoir depending what I need. I aerate the mix with a small air pump.

My water is a little alkaline, at about 7.9 to start. When I first make the mix it goes down by about 1.0 and then every day it drops. Every morning it's pretty frothy, which I take to be from the microbial activity.

I also notice that the soil is lower than the mix, in a few plants considerably so (one plant was at 5.9). I've started bringing the mixture up to 6.75 in the morning rather than 6.5 like I was before, which is bringing the soil pH up a little.

Anyway, my guess is that this is from the microbial activity, but I was wondering what everyone here thought.

Measuring equipment:
  • Mixture: Hanna Instruments HI98128 in which I have great faith +/- .05. I calibrate weekly with 7.01 and 4.01.
  • Soil: Kelway Soil Tester in which I have less faith, but use anyway :-\

Thanks for reading this.

You should be thankful that it's just a matter of your ph dropping. If someone poured all that shit on you every morning, you'd be dead.
Save your money and stop buying into all the bullshit, your plants will love you for it. Good luck !! :leaf:
