Gorilla tents were the Cadillacs of tents last time I bought any 5 years ago. I like mine, they've held up well to my abusive sheet.

Maybe a new or better brand is around now

Sturdy & no light leaks is all I’m after. Separate veg side would be nice also.
Best = more than "Sturdy & no light leaks" if you ask me.

For example, the typical air intake is a ventilation port with a flap held on by Velcro when closed. In my situation these allow way too much light into the tent during dark hours. Further, I want to filter my incoming air so I use two of the bottom duct ports and run 6-inch duct hose to the filter boxes.

I am a big fan of cord ports in a tent too. Means I can use fewer extension cords and keep the tent neater at the same time.

I think a "best" tent would have all kinds of ports, located along the top and the bottom of the tent. It might come with additional support poles to hang stuff, superior zippers, I don't know, but I say you deserve more than sturdy and no light leaks.

So what brand do you recommend or did I miss it?

Vivosun is the only brand I have used. Currently I flower with their 48” x 48” x 80” tent. It is nothing special. I could not recommend it to the OP as “the best grow … tent available.” I really like it though.

My first Vivosun was 2’ x 4’ x 5’ and I used it as my flower tent for two years and seven grows, both soil and hydro. My current flower tent allows me many more options and I think it has allowed me to progress as a grower. I wonder if the best is not necessary if your only desire is something sturdy with no light leaks.

I don’t know enough about them but the main thing is light leaks and sturdy ness. It will be in a space that I use for flowering now but after getting spider mites 7 weeks into flower , I’m gonna clean my space thoroughly and put the tent inside the space. So my space now had no light leaks so being inside there will double protect me. I’m one of those people who always peek my head in when I shouldn’t and I had no problems so this will just be double protection

New moon, hunters moon, etc. So bright it lights up the night and entire field. My trees didn't mind light at night too much.

The farther you get from the starting line the less you care about zipper and stitch leaks.

Sturdy tent is gorilla that I can do pull ups in with the bar loaded with 8" raptor hoods and an 8" filter that weighs 75lb.

Stay thirsty my friends

Gorilla still seems to be the gold standard for tents. They are made with quality in mind and it shows in both price and finished product.

Best bang for buck is the apollos imo. I love mine. It's built with very thick and durable material, zippers are sturdy and no apparent light leaks after 1 year of use. They are priced good too

Someone mentioned vivosun, I would stay away from vivosun, I have one sitting in a tote in my basement, its full of pin hole light leaks and the zippers suck. I may have gotten a lemon but man that thing is junk compared to my apollo or my even cheaper fusion tent.
