what is Afgoo?

So, the question being asked here is "What is the origin of the Afgoo strain"? can anyone help. I've heard it may have some relation to a Maui.

It's afghan goo, and I'm pretty sure it's from Afghanistan, and mowies in Hawaii.

yeah I had a feeling the strain was an afghan of some sort but, I've heard some grape vine talk about it being crossed with something out of Maui, ... is the Afgoo a straight indica or some sort of hybrid thing going on with it?
