What do you use to kill spidermites?

I read that spider mites can kill plants fairly quickly untreated, I want to be ready in case this ever happens, What product or self made product do you recommend that is effective at killing these monsters?

The only way to really fight spider mites is with nature its self and trying your hardest to prevent them from been in your room in the first place,I have tried everything on them from neat vodka lemon water soap nothing worked my advice would be if they are salvagable then flower them out then out everything and bleach the lot the full room neat bleach first spray the walls floor ceiling of the room or tent with it then put all fans on to dry it out then re peat once more with neat bleach then after that watered down bleach.

Some times it is heart breaking when you have searched for a certain gene pool for a long time only to get hit by them,i have lady bird [ladybugs] in my room all the time and have had them in my room for ages so there eating something other wise they would be dead, they do no harm even if you don't have spider mites add them there great and have a big appetite, and will eat house hold bugs like dust mites.

But the best bet is keep the plants wet keep spraying them with just water if there in veg,i even went has far has to hold the full plant apart from the pot under water for a few minutes they would survive a nuke war spider mites best advice is don't take clones in of just any one because it could really mess your grow up,i find the growers who do clones has a trade near all ways have mites.

So my advice out grow the grow you doing get any you think are mite free out of that area but honest they will also have mites, just bomb the room after this set with what i put above.

My wife goes mad because i won't have house plants in the house one of the biggest place's you will get them from is bought clones or house plants, man at grow shop hydroponic shop offered me a chillie plant other day,i said no for that reason like have sex with someone you don't know you don't know what it has, there is a chance they have nowt but there is a small chance they have so i would not risk it they are a indoor growers worste nightmare.

They do not like water though so if you are in veg then keep misting also dip the full plant in soap water but leave the ful plant except the pot under water for a few mins,i use a soap like a dish water soap fairy liquid works if the problem is not that bad,but they breed like wild fire.

If certain leaves are worse than others pull them off and flush them, and treat the plants for has long has possible i would not spary any further than once you see pistols in flower.Lemon water will effect the ph of the plant

For years i had a plant in my room that fed on bugs it produced a thick liquid that was like glue it was great but ya need to do this plant really from seed.its brought back that plant i might be doing one of them again soon forgot the name i look it up and when i do i post it ya

Go to your nearest hydro shop and get some lady birds or collect them get loads in to start of

If in veg: A clever rotation of floramite, forbid, and/or avid. Although avid no longer works on most clones obtained from clubs in CA for mites, it still helps with the thrips;-)
In flower: keep it organic please! Azamax/ azatrol

Best case scenario to me is spraying mommas as a preventative measure with the systemics(remember to rotate). To me, i sleep better at night this way.

I worked in a laboratory with small animals, mostly rats and mice used in medical research. In the old days lab animals were living on direct bedding, means there was wood chips in each cage. Occasionally we would get an outbreak of small mites in the animals' bedding. The university vets had us sprinkle Sevin dust in the bedding and the mites disappeared. Point is that Sevin dust is so benign it was mild enough to use in direct contact with valuable research animals. I buy it at WalMart and it comes in a large shaker. I shake the dust right on the soil all around the plant. Keep a spray bottle handy and rinse off any dust you get on the leaves. However, Sevin dust won't hurt or discolor your greenery in any way. It's that mild. And good enough for government work, eh? BigSteve.

Just dealt with this today!

Azamax appears to have done the trick!

I plan to do it again in a week, just for good measure.

Everything I've read say's this doesn't effect flavor or potency. Any contrary experiences?

haha! speaking of cinnamon....i had read in a new issue of high times, in around 1999, about this great product called cinnamite. Naturally, i had to try it. Fried every plant in an 8k setup @ half strength. what a joke lol

put plant in bath or shower (no water) and spray the shit out of them with weak soapy water then clean water every hour for a day cover soil up to not contamnate, it sounds extreme but its an old farmers trick which never fails

I get rid of mine with Dawn dish liquid.
A couple of drops to a spray bottle filled with water.
