What do you guys think?

I recently inherited 5 plants from a friend, they were root bound in 1g pots, I think a little bit neglected until I got them. I don't know exactly what was done to them before I got them, potted in pro-mix. They were watered before they were brought to me, I think plain RO water.

I repotted all 5 to 15g pots, promix soil. Gave a good watering with RO water, treated with Cal mag, PH 5.8. My practice is to water heavy, then let dry almost completely short of wilting. Takes usually about 5 days to get to this point. They have been in my room about 5 days, 2 days in the new pots.

I was thinking cal/mg deficiency, not sure if they guy who gave them to me was bothering to treat his RO water, I think he was planning on letting these just die before I got them. Might just be overall neglect and will take a bit longer to bounce back. But the leaves with the brown spots and edges are quite dry almost crumbly to the touch.

The ph might be too low and the spots and necrosis looks like a potassium deficiency. I would go ahead and flush the fert the plants even though you just repotted them and start over with a higher ph and an absence of salt buildup.

It must of been really big in to be in a 1g pot. The old growth was burnt,
the newer growth don't look burnt but really green can I get a close up pic?
Even if you get it going it may never reach it full potential~

idk i wouldnt say its nute burn right away. that what everyone said i had when i really needed to be adding cal-mag. if you start to see little dead spots or dots on leaves then it is probably cal/mag def.

That's nutrient burn. Those plants just look flat out overfert to me. See it all day long. Look how DARK those leaves are.......holy shit. Stems are purple as fuck too.....water with plain RO water for awhile. If you transplanted they'll come back to normal. that old soil is probably so full of salts it's retarded, but if you flushed and transplanted then plain water for a week and then 1/4 strength nutes building back up to where they should be again.

The leaves def have roundish brown spots also. My PPM i tested with a friend's meter before I installed the RO was only 80-120, I'm assuming the RO is getting it under 10, I have one of the 3 filter models the hydro 100 series or whatever its called. With Cal/mg my RO water is ph 5.8. I'll just water with RO + cal/mg only for another week or so, hopefully will solve both possible issues. I had 4 others with this batch, they all looked a little rough, i think just from neglect and they bounced back pretty much right away.

Sounds like you got a handle on it. It looks to me like someone just up and poured miracle grow in the thing to tell you the truth. Just strikes me as one of those kind of situations, lol.
