That all makes sense, lol, I was just pointing out that choosing a bulb is pretty easy when they've only got one type in stock thats not $100+ and you say you need to get the cheapest one possible.

it doesn't need to be the cheapest possible just the best one for a good price. If the cheapest one inst what you recommend than recommended the one you would use.

What are your plans for flowering? are u doing 2 seperate rooms one for clones/vegging and 1 for flowering or just 1 for both veg and flower?

One room. I have a 400w mh setup and a 75watt hps lamp at my disposal.I'm new to growing and i'm trying to get as much information as possible if you want to recommend types of nutrients or any other information it would be appreciated.

too bad it wasnt the other way around and you had a 400w hps ballast or a switchable ballast, for flowering hps works better than mh and they sell mh bulbs that work in hps ballasts, so you would just have to switch bulbs when you start flower. I just went and checked on google and i to my surprise did find hps bulbs that work in mh ballasts, in the past ive had trouble doing so(well, technically in the present too i guess since i looked through 3 or 4 pages of results till i saw it, lol), so thats a good thing kind of, your local grow shop may have them in stock and if not i bet they would special order one for you if you ask. The ones ive found are all about 100. you can go ahead and kinda cheap out on the mh bulb so you can afford the other bulb for flowering later on..

Yeah i just don't wanna purchase a expensive bulb if i can get a good grow started out of 30 bucks and then upgrade to a hps conversion bulb when i get more cash I'm strapped for cash at the moment. But if I'm just gonna produce garbage then ill wait till i can afford a respectable bulb.

I think its worth your time, the first grow or 2 is more about learning and getting comfortable about growing and how to do it anyway. you wont have the optimal lighting but if you use the 400w mh and that hps youve got and maybe some small red spectrum cfls around the plants a inch or 2 away you will still do alright most likely.
