What about this idea of fresh air intake?

I've grown pot twice both times indoors with my legal licence . I grew 12 plants my first time . Six Jack herer and six flo. I have a spare bedroom that I've torn out the carpet borded up and painted the windows ran some duckting out a hole I cut in the boarded up window put a vent on it on the outside then hooked up an 8in inline bad ass fan . Then I have that hooked up with duckting to my xxxl sunmaster hood where one 1000watt hps super hortulux bulb , powerd by lumateck digital ballest. All on a six foot light rail and mover. Well anyways the otherside of the light is sucking air out the room as it moves over the plants as well as the heat from the bulb so I can get the light right over the plants real close. Anyways the room size is 10x12x8 there's central air throughout the house for air conditioning and for heaters I use one little space heater with thermostat. I have a dehumidifyer with constant drain running under the house through the floor. I use two osalating fans high and low. Wireless temp and huidity reader and Mylar covering the room . Then in the middle I have one 4x8 heavy duty drain tray for the pots to sit in. I used 3gallon round black pots full of fox farm ocean forest soil. I also have all foxfarm nutes . The fist grow I veged for four weeks there were 12 plants that yeild 18 ounces of real good stuff. The only problem was a case of powder mildew. I used sm-90, neem, and sulfer spray and only lost a few branches. The next grow I tryed 16 plants with the same stuff same amount of veging and this time I lost four plants to powder mildew and mold . The rest yeild in 9 ounces of some real dank grand daddy purps . once again powder mildew is my only problem so I'm thinking about fresh air intake meaning I'll cut a hole 8 inches in the other window where there's another board . Then I thought since it's to outside I should put up the best house filter I can find and a vent cover for both sides. Then the inline fan can pull air in from outside instead of under the door or where ever it's getting it now. The thing is I don't know if this is even going to work ? Can anyone help me with this mabey I can help another way inreturn?

i grow in a tent which is about as restricted an environment as you can get, theres two mesh covered vent holes at the bottom, 1 either side i guess around 14" x 6" with internal flaps to stop light, the tent is 4' x 4' x 6.6' and i have 100watt hps in it, with six plants in 3 gallon pots(soil) temp runs 75 to 85, its a little hot for my taste but the hot water tanks in the same room, ive got a 5" extractor pulling air through a carbon scrubber( 230m3/hour)could maybe do with a stronger fan but my air inflow is fine, theres a good bit of negative pressure that can be seen by the way the tent walls are sucked in, bedroom window left open. i dont really think that an active air intake is need if ur extraction is good is gaunna draw air in anyway, id just cut a hole a little smaller say6" in the bottom of the board over the window, maybe put some mesh over it to stop flies and shit. just my opinion. or just stick alittle cheap 6" fan hangin down over the hole to draw it in a little, cant see any need to get expensive on this buddy.

Hi you say you have 2 windows? if so you could just have a passive hole in one window but youll get better air flow with 4/5/6" perferated ducting connected to an in line fan with the same sized connectors, pulling fresh air in, I advise you put an odor sock before the fan, this will prevent random crap dirt and bugs flying directly into your growroom, ok so you have your intake sorted, you dont need to connect anything further to this window:) now on your second window :- use a cool tube to mount your HID light in, in one end connect a carbon filter and connect the other end to more of the same sized ducting you used on the previous window, use perferated ducting because it diffuses heat and quietens fans at the same time :) run this to another in line fan (same size as other), but have this fan sucking air out, if you room is pretty air tight...seal the door! it will create a negative vacuum, and give a rapid change from stale air to fresh air :) meaning less humidity and less to non mould, onother practise to minamise mould is make sure there is no folage left on the floor and definatly no alive connected leaf matter hanging down to the floof, use a room fan to circulate air under the plants, plants like this as the air conatain s 200parts co2 (good for growth), anyhow, lastly connect the exhaust ducting to you 2nd window's pre-cut hole make sure both in and out takes are air tight sealed round the out side of the ducting so no light excapes and no smell excapes, one thing to bare in mind is @ this time of year in the cold .. when hot air is expelled and introduced to the outside climate steam rappidly bellows out...........(a tell tell sign for nosey neighbours and or cops), so to rectify this you could run your exhaust to another room, with another carbon filter attached and re-board up your second window, that way you still have fresh air entering from your first window and still be expelling the exhaust but with no smell only slight heat into your house, if you leave a window slightly open in the exhaust room the filterd air will excape out the window gradually, without steam because youve used your other room as a kind of air mixing chamber, job done :) hope this helps, any probs just ask, remember theres always a way :) ~ Stelthy, ps the reason for using the cool tube and double ended filter is to remove smelly air from the growroom and heat from your light, this will make you room alot nicer for you ladies to grow in :)
