Weeks on 12/12 from seed.

I know that 12/12 from seed works, dont debate this with me. However, how long will it take for my 12/12 from seed plant to mature? Will it really just veg slowly until it reaches maturity? Could I and should I change my 12/12 light cycle to 18/6? When will my plant be mature enough to flower?

If you know it works then you know how long it takes, other wise you don't know how it works. why don't you throw in a yield question while you are at it.

Your plant doesnt veg or "reach maturity" in 12/12 from seed. That's why few people like it. Yield sucks.

So, you started out 12/12 and now want to switch to 18/6? I think you need to rean an MJ book or two.

every plant from seed will act different as far as how long it takes to mature. i always veg for at least 6 weeks and see preflowers on most and have alternating branches before i put in flower.
i have also had younger plants say vegged for 3 weeks and put in flowering room at the same time as the mature plants. it seemed it took much longer for the younger plants to start to flower. the 3week vegged plants were also smaller plants in the end which gave a lower yield.

gotta dissagree with purple the plant DOES veg in 12/12 the plant will veg until it reaches the maturity level needed for budding if a plant didnt veg during 12/12 from seed there would be week old sprouters puting out hairs. i do all my grows 12/12 from seed my plants average about 3 feet to 4 feet in height and i get around an Oz and a half per plant. but no you should not switch you 18/6 if you already decided to go 12/12 from seed theres a thread out there for ppl who use 12/12 from seed try to find it and give it a read i forgot what forum its under tho :\

Figured I couldn't, but if it is just vegging slowly than I figured I could change to a veg cycle because the reaction and hormons say veg anyways; and if it is vegging slowly, why not veg quickly! I want quick yeild, not high yeild; personal use, duh. I'm impaciente this time cuz my last two plants were male, and if this ones male I'm not wasteing 4 fucking weeks to see male preflowers.

It does take longer in the veg stage but i do my 12/12 for different reasons electric bill and height restrictions mostly

Its always been my understand that the plants will still veg under 12/12 untill its mature enough to start puting out flowers or balls? guess i cant argue with experience tho.

about the same as just veging on 18/6 then switching over, every plants different but 55 to 65 days from seed untill finished. like i said i do 12/12 for height restrictions and electric bill issues it just appeals to me. everyone grows there own ways

this might shed sum light on the subject..
and during the video the plant that were started at 12/12 strait threw with no veg, they were topped the day they showed me there sex.. the others were toped the same day but put back on 18/6 for 30 days then flipped back to flower.

nice vid mygirls yeah you did help shed some light on the subject ive never heard of doing 12/12 until they show sex then switch them back into veg? wouldnt that stress the plant out and possible hermie them? just wondering its new info to me is all thx for the vid

Great video mygirls. I am doing something very similar. I topped my plants and put them into 12/12 to sex them, when I saw a female I put her back into 18/6 to grow her some more before flowering her. I wasn't sure if I was doing the right thing or not, thanks for posting that.

Let's say we have 2 genetically identical seeds, one in 18/6 (or 24/0) and one in 12/12. Will they both reach sexual maturity at the same time?

no, the one in 12/12 will never see maturity. as for 24/0 and 18/6 maturity will happen at or close to the same time, however the plant under 24.0 will see more growth then 18/6..
