I'm brand new to this
I'm trying to grow on some seed I had from my stash

Interested in doing a real indoor system down the road but I wanted to try to do a few plants before spending money on anything serious.

I had some good luck on germination
I used miracle gro and had some nice growth and the plant was like 4 inches tall with one set of leaves growing. About a nickle to a quarter in size.

Now the plant seems to be shrinking and leaves are folding in.

Is this not enough light?

Too much light?

Water problem?

I'm not sure.....

The soil seems moist so I'm not sure what the deal is....

I started them on my window seal but I moved them under 2 4 foot florescents. 1 warm and 1 cold. What wattage shold these 4 footers be? I've seen on the videos and some of these threads they start cloning and use for vegetative growth with these types as apposed to the high end stuff, but I think I'm way under powered on the lights that I'm using.

Any tips?
Thanks

Here are the pics. Don't laugh too hard at this noob=(

Again I ask about the 4 foot lights people say they use to grow and vegitate. How many watts are these?

I think I may have over watered these girls.

When you start in a little pot like this. How much water is needed? If I get a meter and stick it in there....how much shold it read?
Thanks again

right on. So if I stick my finger in that potter....how far down should it be dry before watering again.....did you see the pics? What does that look like there?

Also if 40 watt tubes are gooed enough to grow and vegitate, why do people spend all that cash on those super bulbs and ballasts?

The soil should be dry about 2-3 inches deep.

People mainly get the "super bulbs and ballasts" for flowering.

I think my lights are sucking though. They are only 23 watts each I think. I don't think that is enough. I do have a 250 watt work light hanging there now too a bit higher than the 4 footers.
