bottled water may not be the best choice, many stores have a purified/deionized water machine which is quite godd and very cheap, just fill up some gallon jug(s)

just regular water is pretty good. The plant seriously won't know the difference. Check out a thread authored by fdd entitled "it's all bullshit". Good luck man! Walk On!~

Don't waste your $ buying bottled water for your plants. And if you insist on buying bottled water, I really doubt the brand will make a difference. Tap water should be fine unless your municipality's tap water is extremely poor. You should instead spend that $ on a good pH meter and keep your pH within range at all times - as well as feeding a proper nutrient mix.

yeh i agree. giving water that has been too filtered will not give your plants some of the things it needs you may get in ur standard tap water.

but yeh more importantly make sure your ph is correct and the over all water qty isnt too bad. and let it sit out for a good 24 hours b4 feeding it to your plants :D

Where can ibuy a PH system for both water and soil?
I just use a pH meter for water, then I check the pH of the runoff to determine the pH of the soil. However, if you feel so inclined, there are also pH meters for soil which you can purchase.

If you have a local hydroponic store, I would check them out, but those places tend to be over-priced. I ordered this meter from the website posted below: $42 plus shipping and handling. You'll also need to purchase 7.0 and 4.01 calibration solution and you should invest in the cleaning solution as well. Follow the instructions carefully and be sure to keep it calibrated or else it's useless. You can spend hundreds of $$ of pH meters..but this is really all you need for what we're doing here.
