Water this

Ill keep this quick. I got all my shit in line, box is done, seeds are ready, lights, nuets, yada yada yada and im about to germ. I got super thrive to mix with water and soak my paper towels in. What kinda of water do i need? I was told i can get it by the gallon at walmart or mijer but they didnt know if it was distiled or purified. Anyone?

I use tap water but I add Pond Water Clarifier from Pet Smart to remove the bad stuff. Then adjust the PH or use PH buffered nutes like Supernatural or Fox Farms OpenSesame, BeastieBud and ChaChing. Those are the nutes I prefer after tryimg a bunch of them. No PH issues. Good Luck!

i havent had any problems with tap water so far ... so if you want to spend extra money get either of those ... i dont think it matters.

If you go with bottled water Distilled is better. Got too expensive for me even at .50 a gal.

As far as germing your seeds regular tap water is all you will need. Every seed I've ever done that way cracked, and the chlorine in the water actually is helpful at that stage to fend off any mold or bacteria. unchlorinated water is definately the way to go throught the reat of the grow, but for germing good old tap water will do just fine. And definately DO NOT add strong flowering nutes to your seedlings.

LOL!!! Not exactly...

Distilled water is water that is boiled and then collected and re-bottled. It contains almost 0 impurities because they are all left behind in the evaporation process...

If you boil water you will kill all the living organisms but you will still have calcium etc... Essentially PPM in the water. Distilled water PPM should be close to 0

i just buy a 5 gallon jug at home depot... 5 bucks approx canadian, i go thru about one jug a week for 4 plants... my plants are loving it, just make sure u ph your water after adding nutes not before...

whoops yea my bad... the water that boils off .. into steam ... then back to liquid is the distilled

Sort of. Whiskey is distilled. Corn mash with yeast is evaporated and then condensed into whiskey. So other 'items' in the water can flash off and evaporate and condense back into the water. If distilled water was *pure* it would have a pH of 7.0 and never drift and 0 on the ppm meter.

But bottle distiled water is still good stuff and safe to use.

Distled? Purified? Either? Is it just in the gardening section at the depot?
