Hey all. I'm too broke to afford pH down and pH up until next paycheck and I just did a pH test on my tap water and yikes 8.0!!

Is there anything else I can add somhing I might already have to lower the water pH and not harm my girl?

Sorry for the shitty post I'm on an iPhone and I'm baked as fuck.. Damn gf won't let me on the comp.

Thanks for any help and I'll throw out the rep

LOL, all good man.... found this on a nuther thread here in RIU

Vinegar solution will bring the pH down and if you pour boiling water over egg shells, let them cool and then remove the shells, the remaining water will be a high pH and can be used to adjust. Make sure you actually check the pH of both solutions because its not an exact science.

But i must say, only worry bout ph down, just add fresh water for it to go up...

Hope that helps some....

Vinegar brings it down. dont go crazy though
Baking Soda brings it up, but also leaves powdery mildew on the pots ect....not mold though..just dont get dat s**t on da buds.
Thankfully for me my water is always ph of 7.0 or higher, so i never have to use any baking soda or anyting else to bring it up.
So yea, to bring it down just use vinegar.

:peace:

I mean, good sir, you answered his question. I have underlined and made bold the area in which you answered his question, so to point out to him the fail that was his reply of: "bro tht just tells you how to get a high pH liquid so you can pH low water."

citric acid in crystalline form, or lemon juice.

1 tablespoon lemon juice in 9 tablespoons of water is 10% citric acid solution
