water, ph and rockwool

hi,

I was wondering if anyone could offer me some advice and point me in the right direction for a few questions which seem to be bugging me.

1. i'm currently growing seedlings in small rockwool cubes which will be transported into 3inch cubes very soon. My question is when I water the 3 inch cubes will I need to totally soak them all the way through when watering my seedlings or can I just water around the stem.

2. How often do you need to change your watering water (ph adjusted etc..). I currently mix a litre at a time which usually lasts around 3 days. Should I change everytime I water? Also is it better to use distilled water or is tap water just as good?

3. The water i'm currently using has a ph value of 5.9. Is this too low or too high for using with rockwool.

any advice would be very much appreciated.

Many Thanks ;-)
