I have read the albfuct essay on clones a hundred times. I have the water all ready. H202, superthrive, ph 5.8. I have a horticultural heat mat, i have a seed tray, a seed insert, a humid dome with holes on bottom and roof for my dry rh climate. I have a 40 or so watt cfl overhead. I have a heater keeping it at 30 C. Inside the dome the heat is 28 C. I will be using presoaked rockwool. I will attempt 20-30 clones. I have 11 plants a month in veg. 8 northern lights, 1 bagseed, and 2 mazar afghan.
heres my question. The seed tray and humiddome i bought came as a clone set from a hydro store. The hydro store recomends i buy the insert, which i did, and place it over the seed tray. It then suggests i fill the seed tray 3/4 full of water and then place the seed tray on this. The tray has holes so that when the ehat mat is on the humidty will rise form the tray. IS this a good idea? I have the seed tray full of water and the insert nesting on the tray dry. My humidty meter is reading lower than i think. I have just got the setup going and the tray will fog but the meter will only hit 70 with no clones going.
Should i just place the clones on the tray and forget the water? Is it more improtant that those clones get hott buts or warm buts and humid asses? Basixally soes anyone have any experience with that? The water at the bottom of the tray?
I nervous at cloning in rockwool you can see, i cant afford really to lose peices of these plants! i have cloned ok in dwc before and have the parts for an aero but i want to learn rw as i have a ton of it.
So any help given or advice or any stoories will be repped and appreciated.
