I have aeroflo 30 sit with a 972gph pump. I put 16 gallons water into the resivoir.

The pump is on a 15/15 timer but tonight the water still feels pretty warm. I have 5 airstones in my resivoir and am wondering if it is possible if the warm air from the room being pushed into the water if that could possibly be the reason??

I took out 3 airstones but was wondering if anyone else exp this?? I would hate to think my pump is going bad. Temp in the room is 75-85 in the hottest spot.

You want your water in the low 70's, 74 max. I don't use airstones, no need for it in an aero system. Use frozen water bottles to lower temp.

Yea I took some of the airstones out and the water cooled right down.

Live2gro the room where the pump was is around 80 but with all those airstones in a 12 gallon res i guess it did heat the water up.

Of course it would! That is why I have my air pumps in the coldest corner of the room!
