Water Farm Complete!

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had knowledge on the water farm complete its a drip system. It says that its meant for large plants I hope it is but my main concern that I would like to be answered is how to feed this plant I have never used hydro systems before only soil but its time to make the switch im using General Hydroponics flora line the micro the bloom and the gro. I do not want to burn or hurt my plants at all so I will be patient and wait for an answer thanks.

I grow with bubbles and a drip ring....Maybe if you can take some pics of your set up it would help....I have used the flora series 3 part...here is a pic of the chart I use for nutes...You might be able to down load one on line...

I could tell you more of what I know...It would be nice to see how you are set up maybe I can help more.....

in general for myself ph between 6.5-5.5 with a preference of 5.7-6.0. If it's a water farm it should have drip ring that will continually feed until it needs refilled. I run aero and dwc currently.

I have 6 five gallon buckets with air stones....and a drip ring...is your set up like mine...I will post a pic of my set up...then you can see..

Are you running a single unit or multiple with a controller? If it's a controller assisted unit
then I'd suggest running a return pump to create it into a recirculating system. If it's a standalone
unit I would install a 1/2" T into the bottom rubber grommet with 1/2" hose going up and down
from the bucket with a 1/2" valve on the bottom. This will allow you to still see your res level,
while also giving you a SUPER easy way to drain the bucket completely. When I ran singles I
would drain into a 5g bucket, adjust nutes and simply pour back into the top. So much easier than
having to lift up the plant and get into the root mass.

Just elevate it a bit, and you can have easy drainage, and it will still continue to
let you monitor your water level.

It will work good...Disposition84 has a good tip just elevate...I do the same thing with my clone buckets...makes it real easy to change nutes...I just built a small bench...

nitro you try to explain it what do I need to do and what tools do I need to do this. How do you even use this system how often to clean and feed nutes and when to change the nutes. How would i elevate it?

Just get some bricks or a milk crate and put your water farm on top of it so you can use that little hose that is on the side of your bucket to drain the nutes out....

That hose that is on the side of the water farm shows you where the water level is...you can mark it and keep track of the level so you don't run it dry...and I think you can drain your bucket with that same hose....

I made my own buckets...I put a hose on the bottom of my bucket for drainning and filling.....I rigid up a pump that fills my bucket back up with fresh nutes useing that same hose....

I change nutes every 5 -7 days....I clean my res barrell at that time...I don't clean the inside of my grow buckets unless I have a problem....

GH nutes I follow the chart that I got from the grow store...but I think you can down load the chart on line?...

How are you starting this grow from seed or clone?

Here is some pics of my clone buckets that are elevated...

I have the Water Farm 8-pack with two additional units I simply added in-line. PROPERLY set-up, the controller and the additional grow modules are a continuous circulation system in addition to the timed drip irrigation. They provide a small, single port pump to keep on 24/7. This runs an air tube (like the water farm's tube) but only this intakes water from the first module. It is inside the controller (lower big bucket) which in turn takes from the second, and so on... all the way to the return end of the controller (front). I like the idea of the tee to better drain the whole thing (bitch as it stands), but by changing any elevation of the reservoir or the modules will defeat the natural gravity and gentle circulation, and it won't circulate properly. My whole system is supposed to completely circulate (8 modules, member I have 10) in 4 hours. That seems about right. The system is designed to be at the same elevation to work effectively. Inexpensive way to get the job done. I added a valve between the reservoir (top) and the controller (bottom). Closed, I can mix in the water, pH, nutes, etc. in the top (res) and hold it. Otherwise, it will start to fill the controller as the reservoir always keeps the controller (and thus the farm modules) at a constant minimum level. I know the exact amounts of everything, and can add 13 gallons of treated water in a moments notice. Once mixed, open the valve and the rest is pretty much, maintenance free for a week or so. Even the single, stand alone units work quite well. I LOVE these.

waterfarms work great as they are thats why they are so popular.

u should have gotten a feeding schedule with your waterfarm. the flora series keep it simple recirculating program will be a good guide if u follow this simple rule. treat your waterfarm as if the whole res 1 gallon. so where it says amount per gallon that will be actually be your amount per whole res change. so for a seedling 2.5ml gro 2.5ml micro 2.5ml bloom. this should work pretty well.

try to put your water in at a ph of about 5 because in a waterfarm your ph will rise rapidly.

everyday when u check your plant u will see that it has used some water simply add back straight water at a ph of 5. keep track of how much water u have been adding back once u have added back a full res worth of water its time for a change.

oh and yes it helps if u have the waterfarm raised at least as high as your change out bucket so u can simply turn the drain tube down and fill a bucket this is near impossible if its on the ground. an upside down bucket the size of the changeover bucket would be perfect. and to refill simply pour water back in the top over the hydroton.

Thanks everyone nitro im about to take pics now I set up the system but heres the problem i bought a 4" air stone does that mean I need another pump and air line someone let me know about that as fast as possible Im going to do a practice run.
