"WASTE NO MORE!!!"---R/O drain water that is!!!

Just finished the install of 2 WATTS zero waste retrofit kits on my R/O units. Each kit uses a pump on the waste side to pump the drain water back into your hot-water line----slick as butter and you get a nice boost in R/O GPH as well. I have a soft water filter and pre-sediment filter at the front of the mainline coming in so the hardness shouldn't be a problem. I posted this since I know some have stayed away from R/O because of the water waste issue. The pics are of the reg units before the retros---I will post an updated pic as soon as I get a chance.

I would say the pump on the waste side does by lowering the backpressure on the R/O membrane. This looks like a pretty cool idea, but probably isnt feasible if you dont have a water softener like he does. My only question is does it affect the quality of water your r/o puts out?

Good idea. What produces the rise in ro gph? +rep
the pump on the waste side.

very feasible and I had the softener before the new set-ups---it's not even needed but my wife likes soft-water for a shower. The quality of the ro water is better because of the increase in pressure to the RO membrane.
