Warning! Urine is not a substitue for ferilizer!

i dont know why i have to make this thread but soem users are commenting its ok to use urine. first of all yes its ok, if u want the end product to have a light piss aroma(mmmmmm) urine has ammonia which burn your plants dont use it. urine smells , dont use it. anything green and plant like has nitrogen in it, take said plant matter and create a compost heap ( so easy but not as easy as pissing i guess...) readily available nitro in it. the argument they alwasy use is " well what if u have nothing else" well first of all if ur starting a grow u need nitrogen, why half ass it its cheap r u that disabled u use urine as a substitute for plant food? secondly itsa veg mostly nutrient u need trace amounts of it to prevent ur bottom 2 rows of leaves from yellowing when used in the flowering stage thats about it. and lastly urine has bleaching agents in it yes u heard right BLEACHING AGENTS the romans used it to whiten their teeth.

I've peed on plants intentionally to kill them, mostly blackberry bushes, dandelions and thistles. If you have a nuisance plant, use pee! Girls may need to use a funnel.

I've been using urine as a supplement in my outdoor flower/veggie gardens for years. My roses smell sweeter then every other person's I've sniffed.

Yes, urine straight can burn plants, so I cut it to 1/10 strength with water. Also, urine is not a balanced food source, so it should not be relied on entirely, but it is quite potent stuff. I'll use at most 50% urine as a food source, the other 50% can be comprised of runoff from my indoor hydro, compost, fish emulsion, beer, or anything else I have laying around.

Most commercial fertilizers use livestock urine as the primary source of nitrogen.

Urine, urea, and ammonia feed the nitrogen life cycle. Urea breaks down into ammonia, ammonia breaks down into nitrates and nitrites. Ammonia is actually a very good source of nitrogen in warm climates filled with lots of micro-organisms because it doesn't wash away as quickly as nitrates/nitrites.

While I agree with your primary sentiment "Urine is not a substitue for ferilizer!" it is however a very good supplemental food source for outdoor grows. I wouldn't recommend it for a controlled environment, however. Keep it in the dirt outside.

That being said, nothing beats a pure plant diet of pharmaceutical grade hydro nutrients, or a well balanced variety of organics.

Urine is a geat fert, just there are better things for your cann other than piss, it has to be broken down in the soil first, but is great for all other outdoor plants.

If you get bud from humboldt, rest assured that it has been urine feed as well as other nutes.

urine urea and ammonia are nto good for taste. ammonia is what burns the plant. mayeb ur just used to the piss smell or u like pee... grass is free source of nitrogen, why someone would be on the verge of usign urine as a last ditch effort is beyond me. inorganic ferts have urine in them. they are hard to wash out, ur plant takes up the urine flavors. here is a list of N rich ORGANIC ferts why the HELL would u use urine. we dotn want noob growers to here u say " well in a controlled environment..." by god
we dont want newbs using urine!!!! there just as delicate as the plants themselves ur gonna ruin someones ideas about growing with this urine garbage! dotn agree with it! its used in miracle grow and we all know miracle grow makes ur plants taste like crap!!! so onto the list there should br NO ONE agreeing to use urine we are in a newb thread so they can learn to do things the RIGHT way this is for them its not a "oh well its readily available and free and cheap" u urself said u use it in outdoor, what if they assumed because u said that its ok for indoor? then theres no drainage sincec there not outdoors and urine builds up in there 1 gallon pots. so please people STOP makign excuses for urine!! leave the urea to the miracle grow soil!

iv been cross breeding roses since i was 7 thank u very much. u made this personal i am not going to turn this into a pissing match. this is for the newbs ur in a newb thread in a newb forum if u dont want to help get out. and ur spoon feeding them urine. im doing this out of the kindness of my heart so that others wont have to smoke their piss. whats ur argument that plant matter isnt as good for ur plants as, piss? piss will burn ur plants its too readily available for indoors and outdoors well itl jus run off so if u think its makign ur roses smell good ur sadly mistaken. ur roses smeel good based on the phenotype that gives of the aroma not ur piss. when u dumpsomethign on the ground it goes in the soil but guess what , it drains throughout because its nto ina pot. potted plants will hodl that urine aroma its disgusting and ur misleading the newbs. all a newb needs is an excuse to do something. what about when fddblk was a newb woudl u shun him and just let him think waht he thinks or are u on this forum for other people than yourself?

i dont get bud from humboldt. i dont even smoke or grow anymore. im here to help others with my 11 years of experience. urien is readily available it doesnt need to be broken down. heck they use it for compost heaps to spead up the process of humification. but its not human urea, its animal urea which is controlled(we feed them) HUMAN waste is never ok . why dont they bottle animal piss for ferts? because they extract what they need from the urine and isolate it from the rest. why woudl u think itd be kool to pee on your plants? commercial grow ops suck there not designed for whats best for the plant there for whats best for the pocket book. which i s why they use inorganic ferts based off fo animal urine. peopel urien is much worse. and no one heres a nasa scientist so dont bring up the space station guys...

I cant believe I stumbled upon this thread. wow pissing on your plant. why on earth would you want to teach somebody to urinate on their plant? and why of all people would you tell the people who are new to the hobby that its a good idea? Sounds like a bad idea to me. There are other ways of getting fert to your plant. People, I hope you dont start pissing on your plants.

There are countless alternatives to use for nitrogen. Maybe you should recommend one of them first before urine?

Hey. I've never thought about it before but a good friend of mine is in the lawn fertilizer business. and can get nitrogen pellets? have you ever heard of anybody using something like that? I'm going to see what more information i can get about it.
