Yeah… my baby’s did not make it this year…

I knew something was wrong as soon as I got to around 500 meters from the garden because I couldn’t smell shit… All sorts of possibilities were roaming in my mind… “Fucking stealers”…”I Knew I should of put them further away from the trail”… “Maybe it’s the deer’s, FUCK!” … but I was wrong.

I think my garden encountered a bad combo of a couple of unusually cold nights mixed with rain … Which killed all my plants… (Feel free to give your opinion about what you believe might of happened, THX)… I’m quite sure I know on when it happened also. I remember thinking…”I hope it doesn’t get too cold up there”, (I live 2h south of my garden). lol

From looking at the pictures, what do you guys think caused these results??

It’s funny how there’s that little tiny bit of hope that your just being paranoid, until you see the first plants… Not the best feeling. But it’s something I was prepared to encounter. This being the first year that I plant my garden elsewhere from my backyard, I did not consider all the variables.

I mean, I am to take the blame also because despite warnings from my uncle that growing in that area could possibly mean a much earlier harvest, I did not check up on them soon enough. I went up there once a month thinking that there was no way they (WW and SLH) could possibly finish in the first week of October… The 3 years before, growing in my backyard, I was harvesting Lemon Skunk during the LAST week of October.

That sucks man. I live 2h from mine and it got pretty cold where they were. Got them out just in time.

Wow guys I just had the opposite. I went through a heat wave went up to 100+ and all of my plants that werent "DONE" ended up finishing withing 1 or 2 days of that happening.

Just pulled this past week. Ouch man, that hurts to see. I'm truly sorry for ya.

I had the exact same result with 5 of my plants in 1 of my locations. I went and checked on them they were were looking ok but not the best, and 2 weeks later i went to check again and they looked exactly like your pictures!. The weird thing is I had a 2 other plots like a 20min walk in each direction. both other locations are perfectly fine still. Could it possibly be something in the ground?

Also from your pictures it looks like your area could of been a old stream or pond that is now dried up? Because my location that it happened to was a dried up pond.

Looks like drought got them. How often/much were you able to water them?

Actually, my grow was done on a dried up pond. When I went in spring, the ground felt kinda swampy, I needed rain boots because there are streams everywhere during that time. I taught this was a good thing because I taught they would need less hand watering during hot periods... Is it possible they dies of over watering I doubt it because some of them were like 9 ft tall... im pretty sure they would drink all the water they could get??

I think the weather might of reached freezing point at one time... so that might be the cause?? I doubt it was something in the ground... they were doing amazingly well just 4 weeks before...

Id really like to figure this out to know if i can grow in the same area next year??

They died of thirst...

I don't know could be PH, drought who knows none of us can say 100% for sure it was thirst IMO. I had a couple of mine do almost the same thing and they were cold and over rained on for a couple weeks during mid bud. At least you still got a good few ounces from those and some trim. Better luck next year as I can see your all ready planning.

i would agree, them girls were thirsty long defore they died.

Frost will kill them like that. IMO if it was thirsty the tops would have bent over and down.

I putting my money on Frost.

Never grow in the same spot twice. Because your odds of getting ripped go way up.

I'm in Maine, end of season frost is always an issue. I've had plants survive a couple frosts, those look dried out.

i must agree with people saying they dried out. Checking up on your grow once a month just wont cut it. there comes a dry period and your plants end up like this. imo they were probably already dead from underwatering even before those colder days. if not they were at least halfdead and in shock.
Sucks to see something like this, but next time make sure not to let the same thing happend .

I wish i could grow that way - finding a secluded spot in the wilderness and letting nature take its course. beats measuring out nutes and buying growlights.


Still, in this case it obviously has a few downsides!

The majority of us will say it was NOT PH for sure, the leaves dont have signs of chlorosis. But are laying down, curled up and dry looking etc.. which is a result of not getting proper amounts of water.

Chlorosis is typically caused when leaves do not have enough nutrients to synthesise all the chlorophyll they need. It can be brought about by a combination of factors including:

• a specific mineral deficiency in the soil, such as iron[SUP][2][/SUP] or magnesium [SUP][3][/SUP]
• deficient nitrogen and/or proteins[SUP][3][/SUP]
• a soil pH at which minerals become unavailable for absorption by the roots [SUP][4][/SUP]
• poor drainage (waterlogged roots) [SUP][4][/SUP]
• damaged and/or compacted roots [SUP][4][/SUP]
• pesticides and particularly herbicides may cause chlorosis, both to target weeds and occasionally to the crop being treated.[SUP][5][/SUP]
• exposure to sulphur dioxide[SUP][6][/SUP]

Cover em up in blankets, can also go to like target get some packs of "Hand warmers" and stick em inside when wrapped in blanks, but covering up should be good enough.
