Want to grow outdoors in forrest...Please help..Water supply?

:-?Any info on forrest grow and advise like water and soil..I can probably find a water source but how do I get the water from the stream to my remote area? Any advise would be awesome.. Not looking for a big harvest just a few plants..I live in so cal...

You can use many things to haul water, just use a backpack and find the biggest water jug that can fit in it.
You can use water bags, if the water isn't so far away. You can use a bunch of 2L water bottles. If you're talking just a few plants, you're talking a just a few gallons.. You can also stockpile.. Get as many 2L bottles as you can, dig a hole make trips till all your bottles are full and cover them up. This way when your plants get bigger and thirstier, you'll have a bunch of water on hand and a bunch of bottles to keep filling and stocking.. If you plan it right, you can have a weeks worth of water in bottles already there.. Then once a week you fill them all back up..

Other than digging a trench and running a hose from an elevated stream, you're going to have to carry it :)

yes i agree, you will need to carry all of the water into the site unless you have an elevated tank/bucket with an irrigation system, unless of corse you had a stream that is close by to your plants, then you could set up a pump/suction system. once you get the suction going it will continue to pump out water from the stream....

on my mountain grow last year, i was lugging 5 gallon water buckets all the way up a 200 ft hill just to walk another .5 miles to the field.....gotta do what you gotta do...

Lots of mountains here in BC, I find an elevated stream, Only needs 20 - 30 ft elevation. Then run a hose (multiple hoses) to the site. As long as the stream is above the site, the hose will piss out water.. you can bury the hose in the ground a few inches. Put a spay nozzle on the end so it turns off, and everything works great..

thats the hard way. build dams using rect tarp( one end tied to two trees up about 8ft, the other end made into a spout by joining corners together using wire.) The tarp is on a 45 deg angle, under the spout end is a 60l plastic garbage bin with shade cloth as a lid (wrap wire around to hold cloth in place ) this stops animals drinking it. try to have it in shade to stop evap, use buckets to water, use black or army green tarp.
They are easy to bring in and easy to set up. In a heavy 10 min shower ,its full. I set up a 4 in each patch, gives me 240 litres a visit. If its not raining much just space it out, dont use all at once.
Lugging in drums of water is back breaking and makes your trail look like rhino uses it.

My friend got 5 50 gallon plastic drums with a hose on the bottom and a valve on the end, filled it with water, and hung it from a tree (you either have to be really strong to do this or have a lot of people. 50 gallons of water weights about 417 pounds). Every couple days he would refill them and put them back up in the tree.

Zeba moisture absorbing gel.
Mulch to top soil to hold water in.

I sometimes freeze 2 gallon ziplocs pre mixed with nutes. place the block near the plants, you can carry 3-4 in a back pack. gives you a slow delivery of water. Not sure if its doing any good but seems to work. Lasts a couple days defrosting.

what i do is find a forest with a pond, stream, etc in it, that looks to be unpolluted water.

i test the ph in the stream. if its around 6-7.2 its acceptable water. if it goes anywhere below/above that you will need ph tools at your spot.

when you find that forrest with the water supply. you should start saving 2L plastic jugs, or something bigger. get a hiking napsack. i fill like 10 2L bottles, stuff them in the bag then haul to the spot. then go get another 10. i keep my grow close to the water supply but on higher elevated grounds incase of a flood.

it takes me like 5min to lug to water to my spot from the stream. so i can transport 40L of water to my spot in 10min.

the only thing that would take extra time is if you gotta ph the water.

research a ram pump, use that to pump water to a resivour at your site, then use a water timer and hose splitters to go to indivitual plants, if the water pressure from your rez is not strong enough to water the plants evenly you need to use a bilge pump and float switch in a small tub connected to your main water supply after your water timer, so it only works when the water is flowing through

just bring a lot of water jugs in back packs if you can and dig a hole and put water jugs in the hole and cover the holes up remember don't get to baked and forget where you put those jugs lol
