very first time growing one plant out side

i live in tx if i take car of it from the cold will my one plant live and bud the next year please let me know yall john

dude, its hard enough growing in the summer here. you gotta veg inside and then take it outside to start flowering. its tough finding 8- 12 hours of sun all day, without being on top of an open hill. id try a small greenhouse(diy) and make sure it gets 12 hours of dark a day.
