Venting conundrum

Hi all, first post so be nice :)

Im currently thinking of making a small grow from a wardrobe.

It will be a standard size wardrobe.
If it was using all CFL's, would PC fans be able to vent it enough?

What about if it was using HID, would pc fans still be enough?

Cheers

Probably not.
Definitely not.

I don't have too much trust in pc fan airflow ratings. I have a PC case with a fan in it that claims 80cfm and it feels to be pushing only a small fraction of the air my 70cfm bathroom exhaust pushes.

They might work just to refresh the air supply in a wardrobe every 5 minutes but keeping it cool with an HID enclosed is highly unlikely unless you have several.

Cheers Gardner,
The main reason i thought of PC fans is the noise.
What other options do i have that keep the noise to a minimum? (Stealth operation :) )

How many cfl's and what wattage? how tall is the wardrobe and do you mind puttin vents in it???

Its still in the planning stage, trying to get all info i need before buying.
THe wardrobe will most likely be something like 6ft tall, by 3ft by 2ft.
And i dont mind venting it.

Dont know how many cfl's yet, but it will be my first go so will only be doing a couple of plants to start with.
May halve the height to have two seperate sections for different stages.

I use cfl's in my veg "hut" my hut is an ice fishing hut that I use when the ice is gone to veg my plants in it is 4' long 3' wide and about 4' tall I only have a few cfl's in there mostly have shop lights but just a fan and the door left open a crack works for me . I would try and find a small 6-8" box fan and use that no problem with the amount of air moved with this I have a MH in my flower room which is larger and offers much more ventilation and it still gets hot so I do not believe pc fans even a large number of them would be sufficient in a wardrobe if using h.i.d lighting as far as cfl's not sure how many you are talking but under 10 (assuming 26-40 watters) the heat will be manageable with perhaps a couple pc fans as long as you have ample vent holes to bring in fresh air . good luck . I just harvested my first plant using cfls and they by far blow shoplights out of the water. sorry for the rambling post. one suggestion this being your first attempt dont split the height that way you dont have to keep your plants vertically restricted I know there are easy ways to do this but you dont want to run out of room trust me 6 feet with lights and all that is good to have just in case I had a topped plant which i tried to grow short end up 40" tall.

A bathroom exhaust fan might suit your needs. You can find them rated at 1 sone (very quiet) and mounted properly using rubber grommets will be nice and stealthy.

good luck!
