Venting a 6'x16' SOG

I'm fairly new here. I've done some lurking and quite a bit of searching.

I've had some fairly successfull grows in the past but had to take a looonnng break due to my kids. Well, it's time to get the show on the road again.

Mostly what I'm finding on venting is" so uh... I'm setting up a grow room in my first story apt. I've got 2 1k hps in my 3x5 closet......." ect.

I'd love to hear some success and failure (in my line of work I've learned more from my mistakes than my successes)stories from some experienced growers.

I'm in the planning and designing stages of a SOG set-up. The room is in my basement and measures 6x24x7 feet. I plan on splitting it into a 6x16 flower area and a 6x8 mother cloning area.

I plan on using an ebb & flow set-up. I'll be running 4 600W hps with AC hoods. I'm planning pulling air from my garage through the lights and dumping it back into my garage under my work bench.

Now for the intake and exaust. I plan on pulling air through an 8" wall intake. The exaust is going to be ran through charcoal filter into a custom built 6"x10" duct line up into my attic to be dispursed through my roof vents.

I live in a fairly mellow climate. Summer is mostly 70's with an occasional week or so in the 80's. In the winter mosly in the mid 40's. Spring an fall. Perfect.

Let me know what you think.

Thank you.

that sound like a ideal set up. for the light fans i'd go with 2 seperate lines of two lights each with somwhere around 400cfm fans each.
your exhaust should be like a 10-12" depending on distance and # of bends but 6-800cfm shoul be fine.

are you sure you dont want to run 1000's the price differance is so small it will easily be made up on the first harvest, I assume you'll use 2, 4x8 tables?

post so pics when you get here going hope i was helpful

Thanks. There will be four 30"x 48" tables so the 600's just worked out to be the 50w per sq. ft. that seems to be so popular on these forums. I'm also a little worried about power consumption. I'm definatley open for debate on 1000's though.

The 6x10 ducting work out to be about a 9.25" round. There will be one 90 thn a straight shot to my attic. I may install a booster fan on the exaust end. I'm trying to design a system that will vent the room every 3 min.

Construction starts today. I'll take some pics.

I tend to be an over thinker. So here we go. I'm going to use a co2 system.
The lights are going to be on there own intake and exaust system.

What would be best for the rest of the scrubbing/venting?

a. Have the co2 set up on a controller that shuts off the intake/exhaust while co2 is being generated and turns it on as temperatures require. I'd be using a variable speed fan controller(as well as the co2 generator) to make sure it got hot enough to turn on the vent system as needed. My only trouble with this system is when the lights go off so does the venting/scrubbing. I'm thinking I'd have to get another filter and fan set up to scrub during lights out unless there is a switching system that would go back an forth.

b. Just run the co2 on a controller(in a sealed enviroment) with an internal scrubbing system. I'm thinking this would require an A/C unit.

Any input would be great.
