i recently setup a grow space in my closet with a 400w hps or Mh light. I was wondering how should i have my venting system hooked up here are some diagrams

fan>inline fixute>fan>duct tubing>carbonfilter

duct tubing>inline fan>fixture>inline fan>duct tubing >carbon filter

Well there's problem there, you can't have any system where the hot air gets pushed into the carbon filter, heat will build up in there and eventually over heat.

Most people have a seperate fan for the light and a different fan for the carbon filter, depending on how many plants your growing.

ok thanks that is a lot of help so i should have a separate fan that is not inline attached to my carbon filter is what you were saying is i should just run duct tubing off a couple fans in my inline lighting hood. then separate fans pushing and have another fan pushing out air through a carbon filter?

so i would have 1 intake and two outputs, 1 with a carbon filter one just blowing hot air out?> wouldn't that result in bad pressure?

I'm not sure what your setup is,
are you using a seperate air in and out for the light cooling?
does the carbon filter also pull fresh air into the grow area? or is it outside the area?

ok, so your at square one basically
if the sun system is the only cooling fan you have, you will need to duct air in to it and duct it out to make sure it have a constant source of cool air.
And you will need a stronger fan or blower for the carbon filter, since your putting it in a closet, I would have a fan or blower sucking air out from the carbon filter then ducting it out of the closet.

have you checked out squirrel cage fans? I typically do micro grow only, so I Havnt... but I hear they are a godsend for closet growers. They work well with ventilation systems too.
