How can i vent my 200 watt hps in my closet when cutting the walls is not an option
that's a 400w hps. highest the temp goes even on a hot day is about 87, and this is easily fixed by turning the fan blowing on the light to high. i usually keep it on medium. i can also drop a quick 6 degrees by putting a small fan blowing out of the closet crack, but this is only needed on 90+ degree days which in new england only happens a few times a month usually. the key is to get the heat from the light away from the grow. once that is taken care of any residual heat is easily dilluted and blown away. my humidity hovers around 30% usually. after watering it shoots to 50% for about a day. i can't vent my closet because above it is the pantry of the apartment upstairs lol. but anyone who can't do this should definately buy a cheap door and cut a few holes in it. if the closet is in a bedroom that is in use it would be a bitch to keep everything dark for flower if the door had to be cracked.what kind of light are you using total head?
You could easily make it light proof if needed by either making an 'S' shaped passive intake inlet or by using duct tubing duct taped to the door and using active intake. with your active exhaust duct taped to a hole in the top of the door there shouldn't be any light leaving or entering. You could also get some rubber thats used mainly for front doors and staple that to the door to protect it from light leaving and entering, or just jerry rig something up. if you choose to get a cheap tear up door the only thing that is left is a dead bolt, slap one of those on there and keep your girls safe! if you do that just make sure you put you holes so that no one can reach an arm in there and unlock it. I'm gonna be moving into a rental soon so i figured i should start gathering ideas incase i run into obstacles such as these. If you can really fix a ceiling for 10-20 bucks then i might just have to do that to dump the heat and the smell out. speaking of which if you say you neighbor or one of your neighbors' pantry is above you, you should consider getting a carbon scrubber and an inline. check out htgsupply.com Best of luck to you!
