Vegging plants are 20+ inches - how much can I safely remove?

Hey guys,

Unexpectedly long flowering time has meant I've had to keep my 2nd crop vegging for way longer than necessary and they're absolutely huge now. I've read you can top plants but there seems to be a lot of misinformation out there. I spoke to a guy earlier today who said chop'em in half, they'll be fine.

Looking forward to hearing from some people with such experience.

TIA

well i vegged one plant for nearly 6 months once. i killed it, brought it back to life, chopped it clean in half and the thing grew huge!

since, i done a proper grow with 5 plants and again i left the vegg way to long but i still tried to transplant. i busted up the roots real good but they survived.

i can't say whether you should or shouldn't as im just a noob. just sharing my experience :)

You can top it yes. I would bend it at the cut site a couple days before, pinch the stem right off when you bend it just above a node and cut right above the bend in a couple days.

have you looked into lst is helps a ton if your a bit short on space. i have one that is friggen beastly that im lsting while i finish my flower box, or top her and clone it. thats what i would do but hell im still a noob myself.
