veg through flowering

this may seem kinda dumb but do plants continue to grow vertically and produce more leaves and stems after budding has started?

this is indoor by the way, not that it really makes too much difference

when switched to flower some plants have the tendency to grow another 50% in the first 2-3 weeks....if that helps...make some hash...
