Veg Leaf cutting, stretched plant

hello guys im a new grower and currently experimenting with bagseed. so far ive been growing two plants for about two and a half weeks. one is growing slowly but surely and the other is tiny and stretched a bit. but i think as soon as i tplant it growth should be rapid cause it's got a lot of catching up to do.

i want you guys to tell me if it would benefit the biggest plant in any way if i cut off the lower (first) fan leaves. they are discolored. wouldnt that make the plant put more energy into development of new growth.

about the smallest plant. am i going to have problems with it when it gets bigger because the main stem is so long? you know, will the weight of the plant make the plant tilt? also when i tplanted the little guy, i didnt use enough soil and i think i may have left air pockets below the rootball, will that be a huge problem?

once i become a skilled grower, i will invest more time and money into growing and will eventually be buying from seed banks. what strain/type of weed is best for cancer pain management? my first sserious grow will be Afghani Kush or some type of pure Indica.

put more soil in your cup.Fill it right up the stem will start growing roots out of it. How far away from the light are you. I keep mine as close to the light as possable. Also I wouldn't cut any leaves. Let them grow up a bit before you stress them like that.
A pure Indica is best for pain in my opinion. Welcome to the wonderful world of growing. There a pretty easy plant to grow.

Don't ever remove fan leaves before harvest for several reasons.

1. The fan leaves convert and store more energy for the plant than any other leaf. The more energy the plant generates the healthier the buds that is just millions of years of genetics at work.

2. Even if the fan leaves are yellowing in late bloom I do not remove them until they are almost ready to fall off. The yellowing in the fan leaves at late harvest is the plants metabolism at work. She is transferring all stored energy in the fan leaf to bud production. It is the easiest source of energy she has late in life. Once again millions of years of genetics can't be wrong or we wouldn't have weeds to grow now.

2 weeks before flowering I do cut off limbs in the middle and bottom that are spindly.

ok then ill do that. do i need to put root stimulator on it? i have cfls about 2" away from them. since the grow area is so small i was thinking about going fluorescent throughout all stages if they survive. guess that would make more sense since im just experimenting with my first grow. really difficult to use HIDs in an apartment. i saw a 100 watt hps bulb at lowes and was wondering if later that would be sufficient. i figure it would use a small ballast so it'd be perfect for my tiny growspace.
