Someone I know, may or may not have come up with idea they effectively could veg and flower simultaneously with one bulb.
obviously i had my doubts.
Anyway, they may have built a frame which their reflector hangs from. Bulb is a 400w Ceramic Metal Halide (these bulbs are great for veg AND flower stages)
So there's a frame, and the light hangs from it, and on two sides there are shelves that hang pretty close to the light, these shelves have the veg plants.
During twelve hours of the twenty hour light cycle necessary to veg, a curtain which separates the flowering plants is drawn back. the frame has wheels on it, so the the light-frame with the vegging plants attached is pushed by hand, and simply rolls over top the flowering plants. twelve hours later, the frame is rolled back into its resting position, the curtain is setup to shade the flowering plants, and then vegging plants get an additional 8 hours of light before its sleepy time.
certainly merits some consideration, no?
