varying flowering light

Hi guys. I've lost some daylight hours in the flowering cycle due to a timer not turning back on for a few hours and I also had a nutrient lock up problem earlier so I lost some potential growth time. I'm wondering if I can change the amount of light hours I give my plants, as long as I keep night at twelve hours? IE: can I go for 12/12 one day, then 14/12, then 16/12, etc.

using any non-circadian cycle (a cycle that doesn't add up to 24 hrs in a day) is experimental and goes against millions of years of plant evolution.

That doesn't necessarily mean bad - but i think (i'm no expert) you'd be better off just using 12/12. you can go with longer dark periods but i'd keep the total at 24 (you could do 10 hours light and 14 hours dark).

and welcome to the site!
