Vaporizers: Yay or Nay!

I seem to get as many different answers as people I ask when it comes to vaporizers. Are they any good? The Volcano's (vaporizer) website brags of such efficient extraction that can get greater effect from smaller quantities and that because of that it virtually pays for itself after a while. I would appreciate more input concerning the effectiveness of vaporizers an specifically vaporizers in a price range BELOW that of the Volcano($450+) A search of "vaporizer" on Ebay
( eBay - vaporizer, Health Care, Natural Therapies items on eBay.com ) netted 359 results! (Click to see search results or to check an ad for The Volcano if you hadn't previously heard of it) So can you recommend a vaporizer and can you recommend one that isn't so expensive?

I have smoked out of several vaporizers and I definitely think it is worth getting one if you are considering spending some money on a piece.

Firstly, most vaporizers do actually vaporize the THC and don't actually burn the plant matter, decreasing the carcinogens in the smoke and certainly making it safer/healthier.

As far as vaporizers go, in my experience, these vaporizers are crap, they are cheap crap. They are the cheapest things that you can buy, and you get what you pay for.

I have always gotten a good smoke out of these and if you are going to buy one I would consider getting one of these. I just bought one recently off of eBay that is similar to this one and it recently broke. I'm making no assumptions about the quality of the product, because I just don't know what made it break, the digital part just stopped working. Consider getting one without the digital part, as it didn't really seem to make a difference anyway.

I have smoked out of a Volcano, and I have heard from others that they are definitely worth it.

Overall, I think buying a vaporizer period is a good buy if you are considering spending around $150-200 on a piece anyway. They are fun to smoke out of, and I think that overall they are healthier. Good Luck buying one!

Vaporizers are, without a doubt, the cleanest way to inhale bud. I haven't myself tried one, although I'd love to. I've heard it also can make the high up to 4x as strong.

I've heard really good things about the volcano vaporizer, and with the right settings you can vaporize the weed to the perfect temp without burning.
With other vaporizers though, like the blue meanie, i think it's called, I've heard these sometimes heat the marijuana too high and start to burn it.

Anyway I think the volcano vaporizer would be a great investment if you have the money.

If you find a good cheaper vaporizer be sure to post it because I'd be interested in buying one.

I own a volcano. It was worth every penny. No more lung butter in the morning. Bottom line, life is much better with one. I still smoke blunts and I smoke out of my Roar on occasion, but the vaporizer gets the job done without the damage.

It is probably the single best invesment a smoker can make. Also, girls like it when they come over.

Oh, and if you catch a cold and you develop a cough, you can still smoke out of the vaporizer. I know, I have a problem, I don't want to talk about it.

get one. smoke is better. u can actually taste the bud rather than the crap. high is a little different also.

Vaporizers make it a different type of high, more of a cerebral high than an I can't move off the couch high for me.

If you want a poor man's vaporizer get a heat gun! Then you can use any piece you own as a vaporizer.

Marijuana vaporizes best at around 185F, at 200F you start to burn things other than THC, and at 230F it will combust like with a lighter. So be sure to find a variable heat gun that goes to a low enough temp, a lot of them have a min temp of like 300F. Also, if you do go the heat gun route you can build your own globe vaporizer with a cheap ass fish tank, some mounting supplies and something to hold the weed just above the gun.


I highly highly recommend the heat guns, since then you can turn anything into a vaporizer.

Also, some soldering irons have temps that you can adjust low enough, but they just don't work as well as the heat guns.

They have vaporizers at my local headshop that can fill up balloons. I thought that was neat, just fill up a couple ballons, and just take them with you, write happy birthday on them or something, and no1 would suspect a thing, plus if you had them in car and you got pulled over, you could just pop them. Vaporizers dont give off such a strong smell, and if the cop did smell it, you don thave any on you anyways so you cant get busted. I just thought this was a cool idea : )

Do you really own a ROOR, the finest glass smoking pieces in the world, and you don't know how to spell it?

Also, I strongly second what you said about the girls liking the vaporizer. Many of them have been willing to hit mine and not willing to smoke out a real piece.

It's a fantastic piece and the girls like shotguns from this as well as the roor.

But definitely, go with the volcano if you buy a vaporizer. The build quality of this equipment is second to none. I haven't had a single problem with it and everything is crafted very well. A little too well for a smoking device...haha
