Using mercury lamps

I know that HPS and MH are the best and they give more lumens per W, but i was wondering if i can use mercury lamps beside my 110W HPS. The 160W mercury lamp that i saw doesnt need ballast, which is what i want. Gives 8000 lumens, 3400 K light colour. Has anyone used mercury lamps and what is the result??

the only trouble your going to have will be finding replacement parts,the EPA baanned them last year for commercial lights in favor of the MH lights we have now.Besides that,you're elec. bill will shoot up considerably,they pull alot of juice

What do u mean by that??? The are 160W lamps, they use 160W per hour.

not necessarily,as they heat up it takes more to power them.

so im useing the same light did it work out for you?

And if it accidentally breaks over your buds, cancer for sure.

not to mention the spectrum is in the range that is on the cusp of being useless to plants

if it is all you have and you have no way of doing cfl than make it work get plenty of fans on that bad boy , ive seen people grow wit halogen bulbs

I use MH/MV HID's 18/6 on my moms to get the shoots to get longer for cloning.
