Using galvanised pegs I'm grow medium

Hey guys this might sound like a stupid question but I haven't been able to find an answer, I'm going to be tying down my plants very soon and was thinking about putting into the soil galvanised tent pegs to tie my string too, does anyone know if this is safe for the plants? I would hate to waste 3 months by ruining my grow.
