Using construction perlite?

Do you guys know if the perlite they sell at construction supply companies is the same as horticultural perlite? Will it be safe for my plants?

If you didn't know perlite is used in construction as an insulator.

IDK to be honest. Can you snag a label and see if there is anything added?

My 4CuFt bags just say Perlite on them and I would bet they are exactly the same as the ones for construction use. It's mined about 75 miles from me. ~$17 for a 4CuFt bag.

Rockwool is also used for insulation.

Yeh it's the same stuff. They use it in concrete that is going to be taking heat because perlite makes good refractory material.
