Using a PH Meter?

I understand on how important it is to check the ph of your soil or water.

However what about a meter that checks the EC (conductivity), TDS (total dissolved solids), and temperature as well?

is it really neccessary? Or would that be to much micro managing?

I know as well needing to know how much nutrients in the soil or water as well is a must as well. Isnt that what TDS is?

Sounds newbish but, I got my seedlings in hatchin and I dont plan on wasting money on something I dont need.

I rather invest a reasonable amount of money for maxium yields and good potency. I figured as my experience grows so will my grow space and equipment.

TDS testing is very important, and yeah, it measures in PPM. If you're running a hydro or aero setup, water temp is a good thing to monitor too. For now, PH and TDS are most important.

EC and TDS are really the same thing. Its just a internal calculation is done for you.

ppm is quite needed for hydro. not so much for soil, but its good to keep track of.
