I have some updated pics of the plant...i also have a question or two...i've had her for about a month and a 1/2 now and im ready to start flower but i gotta buy a HPS bulb for my 1000w ballast...any hoot...my question iz...y does she look so stringy...it's got realy long branches that look like they're rechin 4 light...my second question, what is that discoloration on the leaves on the top? i belive they got burned from the light because i usualy see my plants every other day to water them and a few days ago i went to check up on her and she was like 5inches from the 400W MH...i had it like a 15" away a day ago and the second day i guess she grew nasty. what do you guys think?

Thats one huge plant, I never let mine get anywhere near that size. Then again I like to keep it tight and compact. How far away is your light? The nodes do seem a little far apart but its a great looking healthy plant. I would take some clones, tie it down and supercrop the hell out of it. You could do a great scrog with that also and it may help disperse available light more evenly. Discolouration looks like heat from bulb. just my opinion.

It looks like heat to me too. also I agree with the tiedown method it works very nice.
You can drill holes every 1/2" or so around the container and start traning the plant to grow bushy and stop growing tall. From what I have read and seen the reason a plant grows lanky is because it doesn't have the light close enough to it. So it streches out for it.
