Unknown clones outside since 7/17/10

I picked up these 5 clones in the middle of July and put them outside immediately. Not sure what they are but I was told Granddaddy Purple.. I got them from a guy who was trying to get rid of his supply and was selling them really cheap ($4/ea). I know that the pics are bad (cell phone) but I wanted to get a thread started in the event that I mess something up and need to ask for help.

I have these in Supersoil/perlite and have only used fish emulsion 2 times. Once at transplant and once the other day.

I have these in 3 different spots to gauge where I will be putting them next season.

Pics 1, 3, and 4- mostly morning sunlight
Pic 2- Mostly afternoon sunlight
Pic 5- Mostly morning light but gets shaded by trees as the day goes on (tallest by far)

Let me know what you think. This is my first attempt at growing and would like to do it again next year if all goes well. :weed:

how big are they now? More pics haha take a look at my grow. I had a seed plant no idea what strain it is but it took off after a month of being in the ground.

They are only about 6-9" between the 5 of them. I am hopping that I didn't put them out too late into the season to get something from them. I will grab some pics in a bit and post them up. :)

Hey ABM, nice healthy plants so far!

Morning sunlight is said to be the best for plants. Regardless, as long as they get around 5 hours a day, or so, they should be ok.

I'm growing in 5-gallon buckets too, and have had pretty decent success so far (check out of my growlog by clicking the link in my signature).

It looks like you're gonna be able to take care of your plants on a day-to-day basis more frequently then I can, so that right there is a bonus.

One question: do you have drainage holes at the bottom of those buckets? Drainage is really key.

Good luck man; keep watering, and keep us updated. :leaf:

Thanks for the comments guys..

I do in fact have drainage holes in the buckets. I took a dremel to each of them before the soil went in. You will notice some not-so-straight lines in the bottom of a few of the white ones. :)

Because of a nosey neighbor I had to move all my plants to a different area in the yard. I will get some pics for you all after work. :)

The plants look plenty healthy!

Clones are sexually mature so they'll start flowering very soon.

Just go with it.

You'll get at least a couple ounces but with a little luck, maybe an oz each.

Best of luck!

Thanks! I am hoping that they do well. They are now starting to take off and I have seen a ton of growth on them over the last week.

Looks like you should get some smoke. I think the clones are still filling the big 5 gallon pails with roots and you'll see a nice growth spurt as they get settled into their new homes and stretch into flowering. They're a nice, healthy green.

A healthy green is what I am hoping to keep! This being my first grow I am being very conservative and trying not to mess with them too much. Going to water them today again as they had their last watering on Saturday. :)

Good plan! A lot of folks end up killing them with kindness early on. Just a little food and let them do their thing, especially out under the sun.

Is there any way for me to find out what strain that I have? As I stated earlier in the thread I was told that it was Grandaddy Purple but who knows for sure.

Maybe GDP or something else.

GDP has a potent "purple" flavor, even if it remains green at harvest.

It always gives me the munchies, followed by a real compulsion to take a nap.

It's my favorite bed time smoke.

Yes they get direct sunlight in the morning till about noon and then the light pokes through the canopy of the trees until about 4-5PM.

Quick question.. Now that I am starting to see some preflower is it safe to say that I can put these in an area that gets more afternoon sun? Remember this is still my first grow so be gentle. LOL ;)
