Under canopy dying off - help?

Hey guys,

OK so as per the title my plants are looking and smelling lovely. I am growing in a 6pot rdwc system, using the genesis formula nutrients (always had great results). So this time around I decided to go for 6 plants instead of 4 as I've always had room in my tent however when I upgraded I also upgraded my bucket size to 25 litre buckets and wow are the bushy. They look beautiful when you look over the top canopy and there's a really nice amount of bud.

My problem is that from three quarters up down, the plants are a very light colour green which I assume means kit enough light. I'm too scared to go mental and prune as I've read plenty of people saying they will shock, hermy, die etc.

I am around 5/6 weeks away from the chop and the buds are fattening up quite nicely but I'm concerned I'm going to miss out on a lot underneath the canopy. I tend to keep the bottom third of my plants stripped anyway for airflow and because it never produces anything great anyways.

Can I start pruning slowly day after day now? Do I focus on the larger fan leaves and leave the suger leaves? Or do I just strip them back to get more light through?

I am using 2 x 600 hps cool hood lights and I have them as low as I'd comfortably go to maximise the light penetration but still isn't enough.

What would you guys suggest I do at this stage??

Thanks all

If you are going to prune, do it slowly so they do not shock... not sure if pruning will help or hurt. They sound fine...

Ok cool, I've just tried taking some pictures but my camera doesn't highlight the difference that the eye can see. The top canopy is very thick, the branches that are above that are the perfect colour green almost directly underneath that all the leaves and bud is such a light green it's almost white

Ok so another question, is it possible come harvest time if the top is ripe and the bottom isn't... To harvest the top and then let the rest continue going until it's ready? Or will the plant just die?

Yes you can just keep an eye on them,

It doesn't look like a deficiency to me! The top canopy is just so dense you can see no light is getting through underneath! Aside from this they really are looking quite nice, just perhaps I went a bit fair doing 6. Should have just stayed with 4 and had the extra space for each one!
